The days of Covid-19 are behind us and while everyone has finally found their way back to socialize, Golden Globes is also returning with a physical award ceremony after a two-year break. 

However, the 80th edition of the Golden Globes has emerged as an important event for Indians as the Telugu film RRR has been nominated in two categories, Best Foreign Film and Best Original Song for the hit song Naatu Naatu. To everyone’s surprise, director SS Rajamouli, along with Jr NTR and Ram Charan will also attend the ceremony to represent their film. 

Where To Watch

The 80th edition will be broadcasted live in India on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 6:30 am with red carpet from 5:30 am onwards on Lionsgate play. 

Keeping Posted

The award ceremony will be held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Interestingly, the event will honour the best of the past year in both film and American television. To note, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) is reported to have been chosen for their winners. 

On Twitter, the HPFA's official handle @goldenglobes will also share the names of the winners as they are being announced.

The award function is expected to witness attendees like filmmakers Rian Johnson, James Cameron, Guillermo del Toro and Lukas Dhont. Interestingly, the ceremony will also see, writer-director and former winner, Quentin Tarantino, presenting at the ceremony on Wednesday. Other stars like Jenna Ortega, nominated for the series Wednesday, and actor Julia Garner, nominated for both Ozark and Inventing Anna will also be attending. 

Several other nominees like Steven Spielberg, Michelle Williams, Tony Kushner, Austin Butler and Niecy Nash are also expected to walk the red carpet.

The Golden Globes 2023 is likely to see singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who is nominated for the Best Original Song with Carolina for the film Where The Crawdads Sing, make an appearance. Meanwhile, her competitor, Rihanna who is nominated in the same category, for the song Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is also expected to attend.

The Banshees of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All At Once lead this year's film nominations. The live show will be hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael. Producer Ryan Murphy will be receiving the Carol Burnett Award, while actor Eddie Murphy will receive the Cecil B DeMille Award.
